How it works
- Most of the files on this web site are HTML files, created with
the Composer window of Netscape Navigator.
- No CGI scripts or forms are used; all pages are static.
File formats
- Items submitted to the Area Webmaster may be unformatted email,
plain text, Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Excel
(.xls) or Publisher (.pub), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) and other formats.
- Flyers are scanned and output as Adobe Acrobat files.
Meeting List pages
- The meeting lists are maintained in a Microsoft Access database
at the Area 43 Service Office.
- To generate the online meeting lists, the Area Webmaster:
-
- exports the Microsoft Access files to a text file, then
- runs a Perl script that generates several hundred HTML
formatted web pages (by town and day of week), and then
- FTPs the generated files to the MV.COM server.
